The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca welcomes its new Consul General, Marissa D. Scott.

Casablanca, August 23, 2023 –

The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca is pleased to announce the arrival of its new Consul General, Marissa D. Scott, who took leadership of the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca on August 10, 2023. Consul General Scott succeeds Mr. Lawrence M. Randolph, who completed his diplomatic assignment in Morocco on July 2, 2023.

Ms. Scott is a career diplomat and has spent most of her career working in Africa on public diplomacy and media relations.  Her previous assignments were Djibouti, the Dominican Republic, Algeria, Niger, Cabo Verde, and South Africa.  Recently, Consul General Scott served as Senior Advisor on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.

“I am honored to take up the role of Consul General in Casablanca,” Consul General Scott said. “The Consulate is an integral part of the U.S. Mission in Morocco, and I look forward to supporting our bilateral relationship through the broad range of consular services, educational and cultural programs, and commercial resources we offer in Casablanca.”

Consul General Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish language and a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.  She also holds an Advanced Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Syracuse and a Certificate in Strategic Communications and Public Relations from Portland State University.

Consul General Scott is married with three children.
