Event: Demonstrations by the Moroccan Social Front to protest high prices on Friday, July 22 at 3:00 P.M.
Though Moroccan authorities communicated that they will not issue permits for these gatherings, it is possible that protesters will still assemble. The demonstrations in Casablanca and Marrakech are intended to be static events. These protests are not directed at the U.S. Government or its citizens. However, even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. U.S. citizens are reminded to avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place and exercise caution when in the vicinity of large gatherings.
