Deputy Chief of Mission David Greene

David Greene, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, assumed responsibilities as Charge d’Affaires at the U.S. Mission to Morocco on August 5, 2019.  He was previously Director of the Office of Egyptian Affairs.  In the course of his 23 years with the State Department he has served overseas as Deputy Political Counselor in Islamabad, Pakistan; Political Counselor in Rabat, Morocco; and tours in Amman, Ho Chi Minh City, and Cairo.  His assignments in Washington include as Director of the Office of Multilateral Affairs in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs; Deputy Director of the Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs; and liaison for Middle East issues in the State Department’s Bureau of Legislative Affairs.

Mr. Greene holds a Bachelors in Government from Harvard University, a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a Masters in National Security Strategy from the National War College, where he was a distinguished graduate.  He speaks Arabic and French.  Mr. Greene is married and has two daughters.
