The United States Army Europe and Africa Band and Chorus’s Free Groove is the U.S. Army’s premiere jazz ensemble in Europe and Africa. Comprised of talented soldiers from all over the world, Free Groove is guaranteed to entertain and inspire.

Free Groove’s musicians were selected for their improvisation and jazz arranging abilities. This group of highly-skilled Soldier-Musicians performs music from a wide range of jazz styles including straight-ahead, bebop, cool-jazz, and Latin. Beyond entertaining U.S. Troops, Free Groove regularly performs in front of top U.S. Army leadership and their diplomatic guests.

With their trademark sound and style, Free Groove truly embodies the greater U.S. Army Music programs’ mission: “To provide music throughout the spectrum of military operations to instill in our soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens, and promote our national interests at home and abroad.
