Thirty young exchange alumni gathered last weekend in Mehdia, Kenitra to share their experiences and sharpen their leadership skills during a weekend long retreat held by the U.S. Embassy. The alumni took part in various exchange programs in the U.S. over the summer, including TechGirl, Coca Cola, Between the Lines, SUSI for Social Entrepreneurship, SUSI for Women Leadership and MEPI Student Leaders. The highlight of the weekend was a meeting with the first woman Wali in Morocco, Wali Zineb El Adaoui, and other local leaders in the areas of governance and education. The Wali, who is an alumna of the International Visitor Leadership program, encouraged the young alumni to share what they have learned through their exchange experience by making a difference in their communities. The group also spent time giving back through a community service project at Dar Kabir in Kenitra. Stay tuned for news on how you can apply for upcoming exchange programs in the U.S through the Emabssy’s FB page!
