Previously known as the U.S. Information Service, or USIS, the Public Affairs Section supports the Embassy of the United States in Morocco through promotion of U.S. foreign policy goals, American culture and civilization. The Public Affairs Section explains and advocates American policy, acts as a point of contact for media and cultural relations, and advises the U.S. Mission to Morocco on issues of public diplomacy.
The Public Affairs Section also provides many educational and cultural services and works closely with the Moroccan-American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (MACECE). It also works closely with other sections of the U.S. Mission and with many Moroccan organizations to encourage broaden understanding of the United States and its relationship with Morocco. It also sponsors seminars, exhibits, speakers, and other programs in which Moroccans and American can share ideas and information on a wide variety of issues.

Media Relations and Press
The Media Relations Unit of the Public Affairs Section works closely with the Moroccan and international media to provide clear, factual information on U.S. policies and issues, especially relating to U.S. relations with Morocco. The Media Relations Unit also releases the most recent public releases from the U.S. Mission in Morocco, and distributes the “Washington File” in English, Arabic, and French to recipients across Morocco.
