The IRC maintains access to many commercial databases to respond to your information needs.
The IRC professionals can search these databases for you, which include:

Online Database with public access:

eLibraryUSA
Offers access to over 30 authoritative databases, including English Language Learner, Encyclopedia Britannica, the Gale Virtual Reference Library, Filmakers Library Online,  Literature Resource Center,
Teacher Reference Center,  HIV RAP and more.

The following online databases are available to patrons through IRC staff:

Books in Print
Bibliographic, ordering and publisher information for books currently in print and books soon to be published. Book reviews are also available for many titles.

Dow Jones Interactive/Factiva
Access to nearly 10,000 full text periodicals as well as major news sources such as Reuters wires, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. In many regions, Factiva provides strong host country news.

EbscoHost
Provides searching of nearly 4,500 journals, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed titles. PDF back files to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 titles. This database is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.

Encyclopedia Britannica
Provides access to the complete Encyclopedia Britannica with related Internet sites, Britannica’s Internet Guide, and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.

Federal News Service (FNS)
Provides transcripts of testimony, briefings, press conferences and congressional hearings with questions and answers. FNS also produces a daybook which details significant events in Washington as well as cabinet officer schedules.

InfoTrac®
OneFile is a one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies, humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports, technology and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images. Updated daily.

Biography Resource Center
This database combines biographies from respected Gale Group sources. It also includes full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals.

Leadership Directories
Provides online access to directories of the Congress, federal, state and municipal government, law firms, NGOs, judicial, media and associations.

Lexis-Nexis
A full text database of current and historic federal legislation, bill tracking, bill texts, state legislation, case law, law reviews and over 6,000 full text news sources and periodicals including the New York Times, Washington Post and AP wires.

ProQuest
Is a database of over 4,000 indexed titles and over 2,000 full text journals with images.

STAT-USA
Current and historic economic and trade related statistics. Produced by the Commerce Department, StatUSA is an authoritative, current source of information which includes the National Trade Data Bank, Globus (Global Business Opportunities) Country Commercial Guides, current economic releases international market research and much more.
