Location: Casablanca, Morocco

Event: A demonstration and march is scheduled for Sunday, May 20 at 11:00 AM organized to protest the U.S. Embassy move to Jerusalem and to express solidarity with Palestinian protestors in Gaza. It is scheduled to begin at Annasr Square in Derb Omar, proceed along Boulevard Mohammed VI, and conclude at U.N. plaza. This protest has the potential to attract a large turnout that will disrupt normal activity.

Announced gathering points include, but are not limited to, the following areas or neighborhoods in Casablanca, Morocco:

  • Annasr Square in Derb Omar
  • Boulevard Mohammed VI
  • U.N. plaza

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstration.
  • Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests as even peaceful protests or demonstrations can be unpredictable and become violent.
  • Monitor local media for updates.
  • Keep a low profile.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and stay alert in public places.
  • Carry proper identification at all times.
